Born and raised in Ann Arbor, Betsy Finn has always loved creating. As a child, she loved spending afternoons with her grandfather in his workshop; some afternoons were spent painting, and others were spent making creations out of wood. Betsy also discovered the magic of seeing images appear on light-sensitive paper in her high school darkroom. Today, regardless of the media, Betsy’s goal is to create artwork that imbues a sense of appreciation and wonder for the world and people around us.
Betsy has her own studio, located just outside Ann Arbor in Dexter. While she specializes in portraiture on a daily basis, Betsy enjoys creating other art pieces too.
Betsy was named one of 2010’s top ten photographers under the age of 30 by Professional Photographer Magazine. Her art has been featured in international exhibitions and received numerous awards – including Best of Show and Photographer of the year. She has her BA in Studio Art and Business from Hope College, studied photography at Michigan State University, and holds her Master of Photography (2012) and Photographic Craftsman (2010) degrees from the Professional Photographers of America. Betsy and her husband have two boys, a dog, and two cats.
